I planned a reading for a play I’m writing. The reading is in five days. The play is not finished.
This is fine. Everything’s fine.

I mean, that was the point of scheduling the reading, to get myself in gear, to get it done. I’ll make it happen, I work best under these circumstances (thanks ADHD!) so it’s going to get done, and it’s going to be great!
That’s what I need to keep reminding myself, at least. I’m confident in my play, it’s got a full outline, it’s 5/8 of the way written. It’s a fun one, simultaneously a roast and a love letter to the YA genre, so I’m really excited to bring it to life. And yes, writing this blog post is a form of procrastination, thanks for asking.
Still, I’m trying to build up the habit of writing more regularly, and I’ve been sorely neglecting this website. I’ve been in marketing long enough to know that I’ve been paying too little attention here, but I’ve resigned myself to being the dentist with bad teeth. After finally getting out of a full time marketing job, I’m finally in a place where I feel like I can focus more of my energy on my own marketing and online presence. Of course, now this just feels like shop talk, which is the last thing I want.
Well, long story short, I hope you enjoyed this stream-of-consciousness. Back to play writing!
